Chapter 29: Respiratory Protection
Program Ownership
The purpose of this program is to protect workers against injury and illness caused by respirable hazards.
It covers authorizing workers to use a respirator (including evaluating need for a respirator; selecting the appropriate respirator type and cartridge type and change schedule; medically evaluating and training workers; and fit testing) and the use, inspection, maintenance, and storage of respirators and dust masks.
It applies to workers, supervisors, ESH coordinators, Occupational Health, and the respiratory protection program manager.
