SLAC Supports our Environment

SLAC supports sound stewardship practices that are protective of the air, water, land and other natural resources impacted by operations in pursuit of the SLAC mission. 

Some of the areas we work in are:

- environmental protection
 - environmental restoration
 - pollution prevention and waste minimization (including recycling)

Environment Resources

Several environment programs at SLAC can be found in the ESH Manual.  In addition to those, we also have these stand-alone programs. 

NEPA: National Environmental Policy Act

The NEPA process helps make decisions that are based on understanding of environmental consequences and take actions that protect, restore, and enhance the environment. 

Environmental Restoration

SLAC conducts cleanup activities to manage and restore areas of the facility that have been impacted by releases of chemicals from historic operations or spills.

ASER

The Annual Site Environmental Report (ASER) describes our environmental programs and activities.  SLAC has ASERs available from 1989 through today.
