The purpose of this program is to ensure personnel work safely in and around confined spaces by ensuring that entry into any confined space is planned and documented as required in order to identify and control hazards.
It covers classifying and posting spaces, selecting entry methods, and authorizing and performing entries.
It applies to workers (as entrants and attendants), confined space entry supervisors, confined space owners, area and building managers, line management, field construction and service managers, and the program manager.
